Employment Opportunities

  • Assistant Manager of Customer Service- This is a fun and exciting mid-level management position, perfect for the right candidate with a positive attitude, a proven history of customer service, and an eagerness to grow and learn. Responsibilities include: ensuring the daily operation of all exhibits within the Science Center, manage all cash for Admissions and Gift Shop, supervise Guest Services team of approximately 14 employees, and facilitating birthday parties and events.   • Aquarium Assistant- Responsible for providing the highest possible quality of care to the animals in our aquarium. This responsibility includes the set-up, maintenance and care of aquarium exhibits, preparing and dispensing food. The individual will maintain current on the husbandry and of all fish, invertebrates and reptiles in the aquarist’s area of responsibility. The Aquarium Assistant has the knowledge and ability to act as a resource for volunteers and interns.   • Gift Shop Associate- This part-time position is primarily centered on the Science Center store but may also require cross-training in visitor services and other areas as necessary. The Gift Store Associate reports to the Visitor Services Manager. This individual will open and close assigned register, maintain gift store inventory, process point of sale transactions, and cheerfully greet all visitors entering the gift store. For more information or to apply, please contact Kristian Zambrana at kzambrana@sfsciencecenter.org.

  • Events Education Interpreter- The South Florida Science Center is looking for an Events Science Educator to work among attendees and staff during public programming and events. This is a part-time position that would include one to two weekdays, day and night special events, and at least one weekend day. This staff member is key to the development and delivery of creative, hands-on table activities and live demonstrations. Must have some experience working with children and excellent oral communication skills. Please send resume to kholt@sfsciencecenter.org

  • Science Party Host/ Guest Services Representative- This part-time position is primarily centered on birthday party coordination and service but may also require cross-training in the Science Center store, visitor services, and other areas as necessary. The Science Party Host/Guest Services Representative reports to the Director of Visitor Services. This individual will provide high-level birthday party entertainment and service with a focus on high-energy engagement and science education, assist with decorating and organizing the party room, and work guest services shifts as needed. For more information or to apply, please contact Kristian Zambrana at kzambrana@sfsciencecenter.org.

Internship Opportunities

Internships are one of the best ways for individuals to gain experience in their field(s) of interest. The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium's internships offer hands-on experience in a fun and professional setting. Interns work throughout the building on a wide variety of projects and tasks including everything from science education to behind-the-scenes projects.

Our internship program is designed to provide college students and recent graduates with the opportunity to gain a realistic, in-depth view of a career path. Please note that many of the internships offered within the organization do not pay; however, if a stipend is offered to students it will be noted. We do not offer housing stipends.
