Employment Opportunities

  • Landscape Technician - This is a full-time weekdays position (40 hours per week) and may include some weekend, evening or event-based variables. This individual will be responsible for exterior grounds maintenance including; turf mowing, line trimming, tree & shrub trimming, edging, blowing, irrigation systems, etc. Additionally, suitable candidates will have enough mechanical aptitude to perform general equipment repair & maintenance, including hand tools, power tools, small engines and light mower repairs & service. Candidates should have a minimum of four years' experience in grounds maintenance. For more information, click here.

  • Events Education Interpreter- We are looking for an Events Science Educator to work among attendees of all ages and staff during public programming and special events. This is a part time position up to 20 hours per week (perfect for local undergraduate university students) that would include one to two weekdays, day and night special events, and at least one weekend day. This staff member is key to the development and delivery of creative, educational, hands-on table activities and live demonstrations. Candidates completing a minimum two years of college in a science or education degree with a strong focus in STEM are the best candidates. Theater or public speaking experience is beneficial for consideration of this position. Must have some prior experience working with children, and excellent oral communication skills. 

Internship Opportunities

Internships are one of the best ways for individuals to gain experience in their field(s) of interest. The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium's internships offer hands-on experience in a fun and professional setting. Interns work throughout the building on a wide variety of projects and tasks including everything from science education to behind-the-scenes projects.

Our internship program is designed to provide college students and recent graduates with the opportunity to gain a realistic, in-depth view of a career path. Please note that many of the internships offered within the organization do not pay; however, if a stipend is offered to students it will be noted. We do not offer housing stipends.
