Assistant Science Educator: The South Florida Science Center is looking for an Assistant Science Educator to work with science education programs, planetarium programs and special events. This is a part time position (perfect for university students) that would include weekends and weekday night events. They would assist in the development and delivery of creative education programs, planetarium programs and table activities. Candidates should have completed a minimum two years of college in a science or education degree. Events Assistant: The South Florida Science Center is looking for an Events Assistant to help coordinate and execute both private and public events. This part time position would include many weekends, some weeknights and weekdays when we have events or special public offerings. They will set up and break down events as well as develop, prepare and deliver creative, hands-on science activities and demonstrations. Attending offsite events within the community will be required to help gain exposure and promote the Science Center’s offerings. Candidates should have completed a minimum two years of college in a science or education degree. Camp Teacher/Counselor: The South Florida Science Center is looking for enthusiastic and fun leaders for Science Summer Camp for 2017! Camp Teachers will organize and conduct the programs and daily activities for campers, assisting our Education Staff in delivering exciting and informative science lessons, demonstrations and crafts. Teachers must be certified to teach in the State of Florida. Camp Counselors will assist the Teachers in organizing programs and engage the campers throughout the day to ensure smooth operations and maximum levels of entertainment! Internships are one of the best ways for individuals to gain experience in their field(s) of interest. The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium's internships offer hands on experience in a fun and professional setting. Interns work throughout the building on a wide variety of projects and tasks including everything from science education to behind-the-scenes projects.
Our internship program is designed to provide college students and recent graduates with the opportunity to gain a realistic in-depth view of a career path. Please note that many of the internships offered within the organization do not pay; however, if a stipend is offered to students it will be noted.
