Mouse Trap Car Workshop

Stay tuned for the next workshop!

Saturday, March 3rd, 2pm - 5pm

Join us for an interactive engineering design workshop as we build mousetrap cars from scratch!

Where: The South Florida Science Center's new Stiles-Nicholson STEM Education Center, which is located across the street from the main building, East of the main parking lot.

What: This three-hour session will be presented in an interactive, inquiry style to demonstrate the construction process of a mousetrap car. The session is infused with elements of engineering best practices and can be extended to include operation and analysis of the mousetrap car.  Participants will make precise metric measurements, use basic tools, and follow verbal and written directions to construct a basic, geared mousetrap car to meet the specifications shown on a technical drawing of a mousetrap car.

Who: Led by 2015 Palm Beach County STEM Teacher of the Year, Ms. Dawn DeWitt and Engineering Specialist, Mr. Charles Tharp.

Cost: $15 per person, ages 9+ (adults welcome too)
