DinoFest 2019

A day-long celebration of Dinosaurs!

March 9th, 2019 10am - 4pm

Hunt for dinosaur eggs, scale our rock climbing wall, dig for fossils, get hands-on with paleontology labs, find out how to accuratly draw a dino skull, and learn about the quest for fossils with real paleontologists! Other activities include Face Painting, Animal Encounters, Buy 1 - Get 1 FREE Mini Golf and more.

11:15am - "Fireball of Armageddon: The Asteroid Impact and the End of the Dinosaurs”  

Presented by: Robert DePalma, Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology for The Palm Beach Museum of Natural History

12:15pm - "Breathing Life into a T. Rex"

Presented by: Greg Erickson, Professor of Anatomy and Vertebrate Paleobiology Curator, Florida State University Biological Science Museum Co-Director of the Paleo-Arctic Research Consortium

1:15pm - “The Late Cretaceous of Eastern Montana and other Fieldwork adventures”

Presented by: Scott Williams, Director of Science & Exhibits, Burpee Museum Natural History

Dinosaurs were one of the most successful groups of vertebrate animals that ever existed, until 66 million years ago an extinction event wiped out not only the non-avian dinosaurs, but nearly 75% of all animal life on Earth. Join the adventure as Scott Williams, guides us through these formations and unveils recent paleontological discoveries.

3:00pm - "Diggin’ up Dinosaurs Panel Discussion"

Learn all about the dinosaurs within our exhibit and get your questions answered by these experts.

 

Dino-mite Details

11:00am and 2:00pm - “Tyrannosaurus-Sketch: Learn to draw an accurate dinosaur skull with paleo-artist Brenden Hall” will be an additional $5 cash/guest ages 8+ (ATM located near entrance). Participants will be able to take home their unique sketch. There will be 25 spots available per workshop and registration is onsite the day of the event. 

Dino Egg Hunt Times: 

10:30am - Ages 0-5

1:30pm - Ages 6-12

The Dino Egg Hunt is an additional $3.50/child. **Registration for the egg hunt is now closed**

This event is included with paid Science Center admission and FREE for members: $17.95 for adults, $15.95 for seniors 60+, 13.95 for children 3-12, and free for children under 3. Tickets can be purchased at the admissions desk.
