The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is partnering with the Palm Beach Zoo and FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center for an exciting STEM professional development opportunity!

Visit the largest aquarium from Miami to Orlando, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the state-of-the-art zoo animal hospital, and participate in engaging eSTEM sessions. Professional Development Workshops to focus on STEMscopes basic navigation (level 1) training and advanced training (level 2).

This is a FREE event for K-12 teachers in Palm Beach County and all participants receive a complimentary lunch. All participants must register below.

  • STEM Expo and Exhibit Exploration

  • Interactive STEM Professional Development Workshops: Learn Green Institute, Palm Beach Zoo behind-the-scenes animal hospital tours, and more! The SDPBC math, science and STEM curriculum teams will host workshops covering instructional design, planning and collaboration in science, mathematics, and STEM.

  • Explore the new Hall of Heroes blockbuster exhibit

  • We are going totally paperless this year! Look for the QR code when you check-in for important event information. 

Schedule of events: 

  • 8:30 am - Check-in at South Florida Science Center main entrance

  • 9:00 am - 2:00 pm - STEM Exhibition Area - Visit our many STEM partners from the Palm Beach area.

  • 9:15 am - Keynote Speaker & Session 1 - Robert Corbin Ph.D., Director of Global Initiatives for Discovery Education

  • 10:00 am - Session 2

  • 11:00 am - Session 3

  • 12:00 pm - Lunch

  • 12:30 pm - Session 4

  • 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm - Explore exhibits at the South Florida Science Center and the Palm Beach Zoo on your own
